As a child, he received classical piano training and it was through a friend in his science class that Glen discovered Techno music. Glen Morrison is a multi-talented artist, working as both a DJ and Producer, but also the proud owner of Alpine Mastering. This studio is located in Toronto and provides Music Production, Mixing and Mastering services. Besides that, he has partnered with IMAX for sound-scoring live theater visuals which are used by some of the biggest names like Nintendo, EA Sports, Activision and Rockstar. In this limited run series, I will be exploring the pioneers that have shaped and influenced the EDM we have today. In this episode I will be featuring Goldie. Goldie, otherwise known as the British artist and actor Cliff Price, has been a major figure in the UK rave scene since the 90s. His specialty is jungle, drum and bass music. In 1995 he released his first album entitled "Timeless." This album included “Inner City LIfe” which was an influential track that helped with the growth of EDM. Take a listen to it here. Alex M.O.R.P.H: Start – 20:45   and     End – 28:01When released, “Inner City Life” was a groundbreaking track thanks to its innovative fusion of jungle beats, soulful vocals and the atmospheric synth. Goldie's mastery of digital technology enabled him to craft complex breakbeats and basslines that were unlike anything people had heard before. The song was a huge success, reaching number 36 on the UK Top 40 - making it the first full-length drum and bass album to achieve mainstream success. “Inner City Life” pushed the boundaries of drum and bass which helped with the appeal it has today.
