NEW EPIDEMIC OF LONELINESS

Research has shown that one third of people report feeling lonely.  Ironically, those who are most digitally connected – aged 18 to 24 – report the highest incidence of loneliness. It is not a new problem. Its symptoms were described by the Psalmist, David, thousands of years ago. But nor is it a trivial problem. The consequences can be life-threatening. Without resorting to simplistic cliches, how can faith help?
