Noshing With Fritz Coleman – July 13, 2023
Cohost (with Louise Palanker), “Media Path Podcast” This week, Ira spoke with Fritz Coleman, cohost (with Louise Palanker) of “Media Path Podcast.” In this weathered episode of “Ira’s Everything Bagel,” Fritz talks about he became a weather reporter for Channel 4 in Los Angeles more than 40 years ago after being “discovered” at the Comedy Store; how he maintained and prospered in both comedy and broadcasting; why he felt he left broadcasting at the right time; how he joined with Louise Palanker to cohost “Media Path Podcast,” a podcast about a look back at what has defined our media for the past half-century; how guests are selected and what topics are his favorites; and why he now has more time to spend with both the podcast and his family. Fritz Coleman was the weekday weathercaster at NBC4 LA for 39 years and as a comedian, he’s been a working standup in Los Angeles since 1980. Fritz has made eight appearances on the “Tonight Show” with Jay Leno and Johnny Carson and opened for many showbiz icons including Ray Charles and Debby Reynolds. He has written and performed four one-person shows and had several comedy specials on NBC Los Angeles for which he has received 5 local Emmy Awards. Since retiring from NBC in 2020, Fritz has been co-hosting “Media Path Podcast” and devoting more of his time to his stand-up and charity work (VIDEO IF AVAILABLE) https://www.mediapathpodcast.com/ https://www.facebook.com/MediaPathPodcast https://twitter.com/mediapathpod https://www.youtube.com/channe....l/UCWUN22O9UK_jgfnj3 Apple Podcasts https://podcasts.apple.com/us/....podcast/media-path-p Spotify Podcasts https://open.spotify.com/show/2GIOzZ87s5lSDn2GEO5whQ?si=-deJ3gxJRnCk3tFt4ASiaw&nd=1 https://fritzcolemancomedy.com/ https://twitter.com/theFritzColeman https://www.instagram.com/realfritzcoleman/?hl=en https://www.facebook.com/realfritzcoleman/
