Author, Art and Social Interaction This week, Ira spoke with Judith Peck, author of Art and Social Interaction. In this artistic episode of “Ira’s Everything Bagel,” Judith talks about her career as an sculptor, artist, and professor; combining creativity with discipline; embracing life; why her book connects students with prisoners and others who are can benefit from art; why the process is evocative; and how her book is a guide for others throughout the nation to bridge the gap between students and those who have not had the opportunity to express themselves. Judith Peck, Ed.D. is Professor Emerita of Art, Ramapo College of New Jersey. She is author of several fiction and non-fiction works and a sculptor with work in eighty collections, including the Yale Gallery of Art, the Ghetto Fighters Museum in Israel, libraries, universities, and cultural and religious institutions here and abroad. Judith holds a doctoral degree from New York University and two master’s degrees from Columbia University. She is the recipient of the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award and has completed the first draft of a 4th novel about an art therapist who helps solve a school shooting.
