Let’s talk about arenas. We’re going to do that a lot around here in the coming months (and probably years). If you listen to economists – and I’ve done that some this week – they’ll tell you 
that taxpayers shouldn’t foot the bill for billionaires when it comes to building state-of-the-art arenas. But there’s a value beyond the financial for cities. There’s civic pride and team spirit, and these days losing a team is a real threat to markets unwilling to build. The Thunder aren’t threatening to leave OKC, but that doesn’t mean other cities won’t come calling. What to make of it all?
