Studio Shenanigans: Destino (1946-2003)
We're feeling mighty surreal this week! Ballet, baseball, and bewilderment make up our reactions to 2003's Destino, the collab between Walt Disney and everyone's favorite ocelot pet owner, Salvador Dalí. We discuss the history, the connection between dreams and surrealist art, as well as the themes within the short. It turned out funnier than described.

References:

Barbagallo, Ron. “The Destiny of Dali's Destino.” Animation Art Conservation, 2003, http://www.animationartconservation.com/the-destiny-of-dali-s-destino.html.

Bolerista Mexicanos. “Amparo Montes - Destino (1944).” YouTube, 2 Oct. 2019, https://youtu.be/rfT1re_Ipgw.

Bossert, David A.
