Join us for a mesmerizing journey to King's North Winery in Oregon's scenic Willamette Valley. On a radiant March day in 2021, our host ventured into this family-operated winery, encountering warm hospitality, exceptional wines, and an atmosphere that exuded the joys of community. From the moment of arrival, the sunlit picnic tables and friendly faces set the stage for an unforgettable tasting experience. As our host found solace in the embrace of the sunlight, the bar offered an inviting space to savor exquisite wines, carefully crafted by hands-on winemakers, Mack and Sid, alongside their dedicated family. With each pour, the journey through King's North Winery unfolded. The 2016 Pinot Gris, influenced by the Van Duzer Corridor's cooling winds, enchanted our host's palate. A tantalizing 2018 Luminous Hills Pinot Noir sparkled with excitement, painting a vivid picture of the vineyard's red beauty and leaving a lingering desire for the arrival of summer.Amidst the conversation, Bridget, a core member of the family, shared tales of their hands-on approach to winemaking and the move from Wisconsin to Oregon. As they showcased their dedication to the craft, their vineyard stood strong, having survived the fires of 2020 with grace and determination.Continuing the wine exploration, our host reveled in the richness and character of the 2019 Luminous Hills Pinot Noir, cherishing the bountiful offerings of the vintage. The encounter with a Nebbiolo, sourced from Washington's Columbia Valley, added a delightful surprise to the tasting flight, showcasing firm tannins and promising aging potential. The grand finale came with the 2019 Tempranillo, its super bright red color capturing hearts. Aged in American Oak and offering a subtle, lingering finish, this wine marked the graceful conclusion of the day's tasting journey.Impressed by King's North Winery's incredible hospitality and exceptional wines, our host bid farewell with a selection of luminous bottles to take home. The experience was elevated further by the super soft cotton shirt, a treasure to cherish.Join us as we relish in the genuine warmth, remarkable craftsmanship, and unforgettable wines of King's North Winery.
