Teaching Kids About God’s Diverse Kingdom with Dorena Williamson
I love children’s books because even though they are meant for kids, I always get something out of their messages. Sometimes the beauty and simplicity of the text and illustrations brings me to tears! One of my all time favorite children’s book authors is Dorena Williamson. We have many of her books throughout our house, so I was so excited to have the opportunity to sit down and talk with her! Dorena is the author of 8 children’s books, her most current book is called I Know Who I am, which is all about teaching kids their identity in Christ from a young age. We get to hear about her heart behind the book and the illustrations on each page. Dorena is passionate about celebrating multiculturalism and diversity so we have a really good conversation about those things—why diversity matters, how to talk about representation and diversity with your kids, and how it all points back to God and how he made all his children in his image.
