Emma and Corina are on a mission to stop bad work stories. Work need not be a place of drama and suffering. We take everyday situations and apply practical and kind strategies to improve them. Add them to your leadership and facilitation toolkit. In this episode, we explore a situation where a leader with positional power asks to be updated in a meeting because they are too busy to come prepared. The team member leading the meeting did what they were asked to do, felt terrible and now seeks alternative actions beyond the stronger words they had in their mind! We share several strategies to deal with this specific situation. Points covered: Culture is your set-up for success tool. Deal with trouble spots you know of in advance and be direct.Be careful of what behaviours from leaders you tolerate How not to summarise and what to suggest instead How trust, presence and emergence can be your friendThe ‘Apologise and Let Go’ Strategy or the Rocky Strategy ( Corina’s dog) - change your position and go to sleep on the floor Thank you for joining us today.
