The Houli’s Hooley Podcast, Sat. July 22, 2023
Paddy Houlihan, Bill Houlihan, and Clay O’Brien Fox’s Pizza, Guinness, Big Corner Tavern and Flood Brothers Disposal present The Houli’s Hooley with brothers Bill and Paddy Houlihan but this week we’re missing the one and only, Clay O’Brien. Billy jumps right in by sharing his experience at the Windy City Smokeout recently at United Center. He specifically enjoyed the people-watching – “Although there were a LOT of white people there…” He goes on to discuss some of the problems he ran into there including not being on the guest list and running into kids with cowboy boots and vape pens. Paddy has nicknamed them ‘Cuppies: Country Yuppies”. We take a quick trip to a favorite segment – ‘Fashion Talk’ – to discuss Billy’s choice of turquoise sandals… Boobs and Luke Bryan, what more could you ask for! The lads are now being called ‘Sir’ and they are NOT fans of this new trend.. Hotel rooms smelling like bus stations and the lead up to quitting smoking are some other topics the brothers discuss before our first musical break with “Let Her Cry” by Hootie & The Blowfish. Paddy won’t let up on Billy’s shoe choice this week and we hear about another trip to the Casino. Fun fact: Paddy wants to be an Adventure Excursionist someday. Then we head over to Sports Talk and the brothers are really looking forward to football season. They’re feeling pretty defeated after Chicago’s less than impressive baseball season this year. Paddy and his family are rubbing shoulders with the pros this year and he’s starting to really get into his kid’s sports teams. The Houlihan brothers end another weird and wacky one this week with their Bears predictions as well as their hopes for both the school and college football. We go out with “Achy Breaky Heart” by Billy Ray Cyrus.
