The Houli’s Hooley Podcast, Sat. July 29, 2023
Paddy Houlihan, Bill Houlihan, and Clay O’Brien Fox’s Pizza, Guinness, Big Corner Tavern and Flood Brothers Disposal present The Houli’s Hooley with Paddy Houlihan and this week, the one and only Clay O’Brien is back! Brother Billy is under the weather so he’s sitting this week out. The other two speculate what’s really going on and they’re pretty sure it’s alcohol related… “Drink some Pedialyte!” is Clay’s advice, said in a Jagger voice in honor of his recent 80th birthday. This impersonation features frequently throughout the rest of the show – you’ve been warned! This new temporary duo brings the wonderful weirdness right off the top of the show. Bill may not be present physically this week but we still hear about his trip to New Orleans and how he thinks “the place feels like The Walking Dead!”. Clay and Paddy continue to discuss all things Jagger including his daily regiment and his secret to being 80; it includes petting a horse everyday, apparently! We take a musical break from the madness with “Love Is Strong” by The Rolling Stones. Paddy shares some work stories from the Chicagoland Sports Hall of Fame and Clay shows off his sports trivia knowledge. How can you get famous? Live on just wings and milk, according to these two.. Rest In Peace to the legendary Irish singer-songwriter. Sinead O’Connor, who passed this week. The guys remember some of her best work and her more controversial moments. Some other topics discussed by this new dynamic duo includes snuggle buddies, their love for Dave & Busters and the recent scary meth murder in Wisconsin. We go out this week with “Drink Before The War” by Sinead O’Connor.
