The Power to Love

The imperative to love one another is good news only because we have been given the power to do so. But to tell someone to love their spouse, without first explaining how the Spirit empowers us to do so, is spiritual abuse, not counseling. The good news found in Ephesians is that because we are made alive in Christ by the Spirit, we now possess the power to truly love one another. Anything less is just religious rule keeping.
