The Science of Secure Attachment: How to Cultivate Healthier Relationships with Ashley Weller
Today I’m talking nerdy with Ashley Weller on the science and psychology of attachment styles. Your attachment style is one of the most important, if not the most important factor in how you show up and sustain relationships. Today we’re delving into where they come from in terms of formative childhood and relational experiences, how they influence your relationship behaviors as an adult, and how you can change them.PSA 🚨 If you are finding yourself in unhealthy or unhelpful relationship patterns, Ashley and I are going to talk about how you can become increasingly secure. Not only does this episode cover how we attach and form bonds with other humans, but Ashley will also teach you about the attachment bonds we form with other conceptual and physical entities, like money. Ashley is a Health Psychology and Human Sexuality Professor, she hosts a sex positive show called "What's Your Position?" that focuses on health, wellness, relationships, mental health and all things sex. Sex and sex positivity are discussed at length in this episode so this is your little warning in case you are tuning in around sensitive or young ears. In addition to being an engaging and delightful podcast host, Ashley also has her Masters in Health Psychology and has been lecturing about sex and sexuality since 2013.
