Rabeinu teaches us that the reason why people don’t travel to the Tzadik and cannot pray properly is because they are sad and sluggish/lazy. Why is this so? Sadness and sluggishness stems from a lack in faith… and once a person attains faith, he fears from no obstacles that prevent him from serving G-d. Rabeinu connects this idea to the trait of patience, and explains that patience is necessary in serving G-d for it allows him to endure through all the troubles he goes through when serving G-d. Rabeinu also discusses the importance of Eretz Yisrael, fervor, and reciting the Shema in connection to this lesson.
