In this TreeTop episode, Health Gorilla Chief Medical Officer Steven Lane, MD, MPH interviews Hannah Galvin, MD, Chief Medical Information Officer for the Cambridge Health Alliance. They talk about sensitive health data and the challenges of addressing the privacy needs of vulnerable and marginalized populations, including abused children. They also talk about Shift, an independent task force she helped start, advancing equitable health data interoperability (https://www.drummondgroup.com/shift/) Dr. Galvin is dual-board certified in Clinical Informatics and Pediatrics – and an innovative and strategic clinical informatics leader leveraging HIT solutions to improve patient-centered care delivery. She guides national workgroups and serves as an advisor to health IT vendors regarding complex issues of privacy to support the rapidly-evolving interoperable continuum of care. This January, she joined Dr. Lane as a member of the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology’s (ONC) Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC).
