More about Siyuan Liu:Siyuan Liu is a professor of theatre at the University of British Columbia and editor of Asian Theatre Journal. His research focuses on Chinese theatre in the modern era and Asian Canadian theatre. His recent published books include Xin Fengxia and the Transformation of China’s Ping Opera (author, Cambridge 2022), Transforming Tradition: The Reform of Chinese Theatre in the 1950s and Early 1960s (author, Michigan 2021), and Rethinking Chinese Socialist Theaters of Reform: Performance Practice and Debate in the Mao Era (co-editor, Michigan 2021).
