In this episode, Arnie and Fred begin discussing the trials Jesus was subjected to in the Jews attempts to falsely charge Him of violating Moses Law. We talk about their attempts that resulted in getting false witnesses to perjure themselves. Initially, Jesus was dragged before 2 Jewish High Priests. On each occasion He was beaten at some point during the questioning. He was also brought before Pontius Pilate twice. We discuss the results of those meetings and what Pontius Pilate concluded from them. Again, He was beaten severely. Jesus also had a hearing before Herod Antipas the Tetrarch of Galilee. We look at that meeting and note again that Jesus was beaten. We end our discussion of Jesus' crucifixion by noting what Isaiah said concerning Jesus' physical condition when He was placed on the cross. We begin our discussion of Jesus' resurrection by noting Matthew's account of what the angel at the tomb and Jesus later said to the first witnesses.
