What We’re Thinking: Major League Tar Heels

Every other Monday, Aaron is joined at 8:30 a.m. by Tom Jensen, the director of Public Policy Polling, for a longstanding regular segment called “What We’re Thinking,” looking at recent survey numbers and discussing what they tell us about American public opinion – election-related and otherwise. This week, Tom and Aaron take a break from polls – and talk baseball, with several former Tar Heels in the thick of the MLB playoff hunt. That includes Cy Young Award contender Zac Gallen and catcher-and-sometime-pitcher Jacob Stallings, while Michael Busch struggles to find a spot on the extremely deep Dodgers roster. Meanwhile closer to home, Cooper Criswell and Trevor Kelley have been bouncing back and forth between the Rays and the Durham Bulls all season – but both teams are pretty good this year, so they’ve never been out of playoff contention no matter what state or league they’ve been in.
