San Antonio College President, Dr. Naydeen González-De Jesús, talks with Hot Mustard about the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), a nonprofit organization with a mission to promote Hispanic student success in higher education. HACU works with over 500 colleges and universities that are home to two-thirds of all Hispanic college students. They offer students leadership programs, internship opportunities, and career readiness programs.Guests include Dr. Paul A. Machen II, Executive Director, Institute for Professional Leadership, Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities, and Dr. Joan Jaimes, Director of Teaching and Learning & SAC Ascender Catch the Next, San Antonio College. Dr. Machen talks about HACU’s impact on Hispanic serving institutions. Dr. Jaimes talks about her work and experience with HACU’s La Academia de Liderazgo and the overall vision of leadership for Hispanic serving institutions.HACU maintains more than 30 formal Memoranda of Understanding and Partnership Agreements with federal agencies, offices, and business organizations. HACU also hosts technical assistance workshops throughout the country on available federal program grants and other resources.
