63. Planning Happiness: Managing the Mundane to Manifest the Marvelous
Here on the Habit Thrive Podcast, we are all about making the most out of our habits in order to lead more Fit, Fearless & Fabulous lives.🙌
And today on Episode #63, we’re continuing our month of Planning Happiness by talking about Managing the Mundane to Manifest the Marvelous.💅
Think of some of your daily, automatic habits:
Having a cup of coffee in the morning☕️
Taking a bath before bed at night🌙
Taking your dog for a walk🐶
You might dismiss these habits as mundane, “normal” daily tasks, but I want you to put them into a new perspective and think about how you can transform them into something marvelous:
Drink a glass of water before your coffee so that you are hydrating before caffeinating
Add some essential oils to your bath or listen to a short meditation while you soak
Try a breathing exercise while you walk or simply practice being present in nature
Even the simplest of habits can be tweaked or stacked with other habits to help you Manifest the Marvelous.🥰
Taking a fresh approach to these habits can make you appreciate the things you thought of as mundane such as meal prepping, cleaning or even commuting to work.🚗
You may find that listening to a podcast on your way to work helps you get motivated💪 for the day ahead.
Meal prepping on Sunday afternoon might allow more time during the week to simply enjoy your lunch breaks.🥪
Or it might give you more time to be with family instead of spending all evening in the kitchen making dinner.
Practicing the mundane habits can also help them become more automated (so we don’t have to think about them🧠), which clears space in our minds to do more of the other things that bring the marvelous to our lives.
Try grouping the mundane into rituals:
Morning - lemon water, coffee, meditation, journaling
Afternoon - answer emails, check the calendar for the day ahead, wrap up work for the day
Evening - take a walk, bathe/shower, journaling, lights out at the same time each night
Doing this can help ensure not only that you are getting these things done, but also that they are being done automatically and not taking up space in your conscious thoughts.😉
