There are a number of sayings in the English language that carry the sentiment of payback or retribution. One is "Turnabout Is Fair Play;" a British proverb that carries the meaning of retaliation, of causing harm to someone who intends to harm you. As we will see in Esther 8, that is exactly how Esther and Mordecai solve the problem of the 13h of Adar, when all the Persians have been given the right to exterminated any Jewish residents of the empire.
