A Reflection on Division - Ideology & Politics
The world, whether at the national, sub-national or community level is divided along ideological and political lines. We live in a world of massive information flow and limited discourse. The value of ideas from individuals are framed in relation to their political , cultural and religious ideology. Great thoughts and opinions are lost to the ether when we ignore commentary because the person belongs to a certain political party, champions a topic or is a member of a faith group.
Division permeates our institutions, governance and the global world order - we've lost the ability to create community.
This is an argument for the grass roots building of a community, not one that is confirmation bias - people who agree with your views, but a group of individuals with diverse political, ideological and cultural origins.
Create the space to hear all sides, make friends with the opposition - because they are not the opponent, they're your fellow citizens.Support the showwww.insidemycanoehead.ca
