Shay recalls back in high school, he initially disliked running. Back then, running served Shay as a means of weight loss which negatively affected his outlook on endurance sports. Until he discovered Ironman, he did his research and explored the intricacies of form, cadence, heart rate, and optimal training techniques. As he became more familiar with endurance sports, his body no longer experienced pain, and his breathing improved. He reminds us that nothing is impossible when we reach beyond our comfort zones.
