Join us as we explore Tim's unique artistic process, his adventurous approach to creating, and his unwavering commitment to letting go.Tim shares his personal cues and ongoing dialogues that guide his creative process. He encourages us to ask ourselves, "What if?" and "Why not?" as a means of pushing boundaries and exploring new artistic territories. By letting go of preciousness, Tim urges us to take risks, dismantle our work, and allow for unforeseen possibilities to emerge.Delving into the multi-layered nature of his paintings, Tim reveals how each layer represents a moment in time, providing a visual narrative of his artistic journey. With a keen eye for recognizing when a mark or passage holds significance but isn't the final destination, Tim fearlessly covers it up and moves forward, embracing the impermanence of his creations.Throughout the conversation, Tim emphasizes the importance of learning from each artistic endeavor and then letting it go. By doing so, he believes in the power of growth and the potential for reinvention. His ability to detach from his work allows him to continually evolve as an artist, creating space for new ideas and approaches to flourish. As we explore Tim's art and process, we gain a deeper understanding of the role that process plays in his work. Tim's dedication to embracing growth and inspiring reinvention serves as a powerful reminder for artists and creators to remain open-minded, adaptable, and unafraid to evolve.Join us in this thought-provoking episode as we unlock the secrets to artistic transformation and discover the boundless possibilities that lie within the act of letting go.Tim McFarlane is a visual artist based in Philadelphia, PA, whose works examine the fluid and contradictory nature of memory and place, with an emphasis on color, multi-layered systems and process.
