In this MLB Trade Deadline Eve special, Joey begins by breaking down the trade between the Los Angeles Angels and Colorado Rockies that sent CJ Cron and Randal Grichuk to the Halos. He makes the case that even going all in is risky, it is the best decision for the Angels, even though people will live in hindsight if things do not work out. Following that, he analyzes the Texas Rangers’ acquisitions of Max Scherzer and Jordan Montgomery, and praises the organization for going all in. Joey explains why he is a fan of the Mets trading Scherzer and building for the future with this season being a lost cause. He mentions the Blue Jays trading for Cardinals reliever Jordan Hicks with St. Louis being a firesale. After that, he debates why the Red Sox should not trade Alex Verdugo, before contemplating whether or not the New York Mets will ship out Justin Verlander. Additionally, Joey looks into the Cubs’ decision to hold onto Cody Bellinger and sees it as the best idea for the club with their recent success over the last month. In the last few minutes of the episode, he argues the Red Sox should still be buyers despite two losses in a row to the Giants and creates a trade package for the Red Sox to land Blake Snell (even though San Diego will likely keep him) and for the Dodgers to get Eduardo Rodriguez.
