Cyclocross is many things to many people - fun, challenging, exciting, community - and to celebrate the beginning of #crossiscoming or #crossishere :) we took Mr. Microphone to a local VERY grassroots cross practice in Des Moines and asked people why they dig the niche sport. We also spent some time with Mr. BIKEIOWA Scott Sumpter to talk about this grassroots weekly practice- a model for other communities - as well as a shameless plug for the BIKEIOWA Capital City Cross weekend of racing on September 23,24 in Des Moines. We hope you can relate to people's "why" and get out on the grass, mud, sand and hills - either between the tape or next to the tape with cowbells, dollar bills and some delicious beverages of your choice. We encourage you to join the fun - if you've never done cross, don't be afraid! You can ride any bike you want and jump in a local race! And if you already enjoy the sport - invite your friends!
