Ep026 Why Accountability Is So Critical for Your Business Success
So why is accountability so essential for growth?Did you know that you are 95% more likely to achieve your goals if you're doing that with somebody else, as opposed to if you're doing that on your own? Imagine you’ve committed to running 5 times a week alone. It’s a cold, wet, rainy day and you’re tired… how likely are you to push yourself to put on your running shoes? Now imagine you’ve committed to running 5 times a week with a friend. Even if it’s cold, wet and raining you’re far less likely to cancel. Why? Because you don’t want to let them down.
For me, personalised accountability works best and this has worked for me throughout my school years, into adulthood in employment and also whenever I’ve been studying. If this is what would usually motivate you to act, it’s not realistic (or fair!) to expect yourself to deliver in your business doing it alone when accountability is a key part of how and why you take action.
In this episode, I talk about 3 ways you can find this accountability both internally and externally.
Here are the highlights:
[03:27] Accountability to someone else and setting deadlines[05:11] Having accountability to a bigger and wider purpose than yourself[06:58] External accountability and why working with a coach can be so powerful
