HoM: Star Trek - "The Vulcan Hello/Battle at the Binary Stars" & more
Series 4, Episode 9 - "There's room at the table for everyone... as long as you're nice to Ash Tyler." Welcome back friends, audience members, warriors and gelatinous blob life forms. In this week's episode Mike is hosting solo, going through the usual fun segments and then leading a deep dive into the "divisive" first two episodes of Star Trek: Discovery, "The Vulcan Hello" and "Battle at the Binary Stars". He's joined by a couple of great, honourable guests. First up he welcomes back his friend of many decades and returning TrekkerMind 2023 champion Steve Brown. He's talking Trek along with, of course, Discovery superfan (and Ash Tyler "Stan") Jordan La Fordan. We had to! Tune into this lively, fun episode. Trust us, "we come in peace". This episode was recorded during the 2023 WGA & SAG-AFTRA strikes. Without the hard work of the writers & actors currently on strike the works covered here would not exist. We fully support the WGA & SAG-AFTRA in their fight for fair treatment & compensation.Having consulted the FAQs sent by SAG-AFTRA & published by Variety it clarifies that critics are not on strike & not obligated to stop reviewing movies or TV shows. The only restriction onpodcasts is the same one that applies to any other medium: SAG-AFTRA members are not allowed to promote struck work. Any praise that constitutes part of our criticism applies to the artists, writers & actors who created these works. We would like to emphasise that we fully support these strikes and that writers, actors and other artists deserve fair compensation. This podcast is not made with any studio provided material, support or backing. We do not support any studios during these strikes.Follow Mike and the podcast all over the internet via linktr.ee/mikespods Follow Mike on Discord: MikeOfSteel#2913 Follow D.K everywhere via linktr.ee/akastarlord Follow us on the artist formerly known as Twitter: http://twitter.com/TrekScreenPods Follow Jordan on Mastodon at Jordanlafordan@tenforward.social or under the username Jordanlafordan on Instagram & BlueSky.?Host /Editor/Producer - Michael K.
