Food, as we know it, is the fuel to our bodies. However, in addition to fueling our stomachs, food can also influence our mood and mental wellness. Physiological and phycological factors impact our eating behaviors and why we gravitate to certain foods when feeling stressed, depressed, or anxious. It is imperative to cultivate healthy eating behavior, as this does not only serve our body but our mind as well.Joining the conversation, we have Somerset West-based clinical psychologist, Simone Arendse. She has practiced for 14 years, both locally and internationally, and shares some of her methods on how to break the vicious cycle of comfort eating when we don't feel good.
