The battle is waged from a place of stillness. If an army is in chaos, it’s not going to respond very well when the enemy strikes. If a soldier is always fatigued and confused about what to do, he’s not going to face the enemy with power. There are times when we all have a battle to wage. This isn’t about guns or placards. This is a personal struggle, or fighting for a loved one, or facing a dark spiritual enemy. When the time is night, is your soul chaotic, loud, fatigued or confused, or are you still, focused and ready? This sermon explores Psalm 131. David has calmed and quieted his soul. What can he teach us about being still in a time that seems anything but.
