Identity: Who Are You?

1 Views· 06/05/23

We hear a lot about identity these days, usually something regarding identity politics, which asserts identity is wholly socially determined.  According to this philosophy, we are products of our sex, race, and something socially invented called gender identity. But Christians believe we are made in God’s image. Sex, race, and ethnic characteristics matter in our lives, but not in the reductionist, inevitably divisive, way they are being presented today. What really matters is our identity in Christ, a transformative reality that makes us a new creation, and among those who believe by faith in Christ, unifies every kindred and tongue in the Body of Christ.
