My Take on the PGA & LIV Merger

The announcement the Professional Golf Association (PGA), the DP World Tour (Europe’s version of the PGA), and the LIV Tour are merging is not without precedent in professional sports.
In 1903, the National League and the American League merged to form the North American Professional Baseball Organization. Up until then, they were two entirely independent organizations, and that merger has worked well.
That doesn’t mean we have to like this merger in golf, details of which are still emerging, and still will a year from now. I have been an outspoken critic (imagine that?) of the LIV Tour and have more reason to be now.
