Out July 14th 2023. Buy here : https://tasterec.bandcamp.com Light Echoes is the result of a long time collaboration between childhood friends nICo and Grand Riviera. The project was born back in 2019, when the duo met for a jamming session at Grand Riviera’s studio and began to experiment with synths and rhythms. A few sessions later, the structure of Disco Paradiso was completed, becoming the song of the LP that they feel the most connected to because it marked the beginning of this collaboration. Their mutual love towards spacey electronica was always the focus, while maintaining a dancefloor touch was an important part of their process. Heat-Haze Controller, Stalled Memory, Heavy Cycle and Cosmic Orchestra followed after Disco Paradiso to create a five-track exploration of sonic sensations, bold bass lines, distorted industrial pads, rarefied synths and acid sounds, creating an ethereal atmosphere. It took a few years to take this work to completion, which was entirely produced in the same way it started: in Grand Riviera’s studio, featuring sounds from a bunch of analog synthesisers and FX such as Roland SH201, Crumar Cougar (an organ from 1969!), Korg Minilogue, Model D and Pro1, Roland JU-60A, Nord Drums and Roland Space Echo, plus some beloved VSTs like Roland 303 and various samples. Master Romain FX completes the LP by offering a stompy interpretation of Stalled Memory, giving it a little Italo touch with an acid character and a rolling bass line to provide ecstatic dance floor moments.
