Ezra 5:1-2,9-11 6:6-9Servants of God - We tend to greatly downplay the significance of being a servant of God. The imagery used in this title goes so far beyond our comprehension of relationship with God. This isn’t just Old Testament imagery. Paul uses the same phrase when describing himself to the churches to which he is writing (Rom. 1:1) and Jesus used the same term when describing his own mission (Matt. 20:28).The Lord himself will fight for you. Just stay calm. Exodus 14:14God’s Battle Plan - We we look through scripture, we can see multiple times where God revealed his plan for battling opposition. It was always more about him than it was about the people of Israel.God delights in fighting the battle for his people. We don’t have to raise an army, build a campaign, rally the troops or anything else. Our primary objective in Spiritual Warfare is to cry out to God and put our complete trust in him. Our mission is to eradicate any and all sin and idolatry in our lives so that we can watch God do what only he can do. Every human attempt at battle and warfare in the Bible, ended in defeat. It’s not about us. It’s about Him!Only god can turn opposition into an asset- For as long as we continue to battle with our opposition, we will be defeated. How likely are we to change the way our opposition thinks? Do you imagine that those who oppose the Gospel will be won over by some argument of great campaign that we might muster.There has never been a more imperative time for us to lean into the plan that God has for the battles we are facing. They aren’t going to be overcome by our thinking, planning, working, doing or ranting. We aren’t called to wage war against our opposition. We are called to put our complete reliance in God. When we do that, we just might begin to see more victories in the areas where we’ve seen defeat. We don’t win battles because of us. We will stand back and see the hand of God moving and working on our behalf.
