After retiring from a 20-year Navy career Rebekah knew she needed to follow her heart & bring awareness to a disorder that so many are trying to survive with. “It was time to stop hiding behind my invisible wounds and start embracing my PTSD. I was tired of surviving; I wanted to live."In this episode Rebekah talks about her time in the service and being overseas in Iraq in 2011. She vividly recalls the long nights trying to get rest while mortars were hitting all around her compound. Some even inside the wire. With the help of her oldest daughter Taylor, Rebekah went to seek help and was diagnosed with PTSD. Shortly after she heard about Northwest Battle Buddies where she met her service dog Trigger.
