SCR Exclusive Interview: Kofi Baker (Son of Ginger Baker/Cream Faith)
We have a special guest joining Matthew for this Super Cool Radio interview. In July, Matthew had the opportunity to interview Kofi Baker. Kofi is the son of Cream and Blind Faith drummer, Ginger Baker. Kofi has been drumming for almost his entire life. His first live performance was when he was six on the UK TV music show The Old Grey Whistle Test. In the 80's, Kofi and his father performed drum duets in Europe. Kofi has toured with John Ethridge, Steve Marriot's Humble Pie, Jack Bruce, and Jonas Hellborg and Shawn Lane, to name a few. Kofi's current focus is his project, Cream Faith, which celebrates classic cuts from Cream and Blind Faith, with other top session musicians. In this interview, hear Kofi discuss his time in The Music of Cream, his favorite Cream and Blind Faith song to perform live, some stories from his childhood including his dad pouring gasoline while smoking a cigarette, new music with Rob Johnson, and so much more! SCR and Matthew Thomas would like to thank Kofi for the great interview.
