Sean Grande, play-by-play voice of the Boston Celtics joins Mike Gill and Phil de Montmollin on The Announcer Schedules Podcast.  Grande checks in following his recent odyssey from Boston to Milan, Italy and back to Boston to call Bellator action and the NBA in rapid succession.

In his 25th season in the NBA and now 22nd as the voice of the Boston Celtics, Sean Grande has long since cemented his status as one of the nation’s elite play-callers. Sean will be joined by Brian Scalabrine and Abby Chin on NBC Sports Boston's Celtic road games, and of course by analyst Cedric Maxwell for radio games on 98.5 The Sports Hub. Since 2001, “Grande and Max” have become one of Boston’s most popular and iconic on-air combinations, and the soundtrack of the Celtics “New Big Three Era”. 
On May 20, 2013, Grande made his Major League Baseball debut, as the alternate play-by-play voice of the World Champion Boston Red Sox. It completed his cycle of broadcasting major pro sports (NBA, NFL, NHL, WNBA and MLS). A frequent national guest on ESPN’s SportsCenter, SportsNation, First Take and the the Bill Simmons Podcast, Sean will again join Marc D'Amico and Abby Chin on the Celtics original podcast From The Rafters.
In 2015, a new adventure, a multi-year deal as the voice of Spike Sports and Bellator MMA. He expanded even further into combat sports and back to broadcast network TV in 2017, calling world title fights as the play-by-play voice of PBConFOX, and in 2018 of Top Rank Boxing on ESPN. In 2021, he returned to Bellator and their new home, Showtime Sports.
Grande’s milestones continue to pile up. Only the legendary Johnny Most and longtime cable voice Mike Gorman have called more Celtics games. On December 3rd, 2009 in San Antonio, he called his 1000th NBA Game, joining Marv Albert and Ian Eagle as the only three to reach that plateau before the age of 40. On February 3, 2012, Grande and Max were honored pre-game at TD Garden for their 1000th game together, on December 23rd, 2022 at the Garden, they're scheduled to call #2000. After signing a multi-year Celtics extension in 2018, Grande called his 2000th NBA game in the August 2020 NBA Playoff Bubble.
His college hockey work for Fox and the NCAA Tournament garnered him three New England Emmy nominations including the 1999 Emmy for best Play-by-Play. He spent a combined 9 years calling Boston University and Boston College games, served six years as the television voice of the NCAA East Regional. But he left an indelible image on the sport with a fourteen-year run as “Voice of the Frozen Four” on CBS Radio. His 16 NCAA Championship Games stands as a play-by-play record.
He made his national play-by-play debut at age 28, calling college football on ABC Sports.
Grande lives in Cambridge, MA with his son Jackson, and his wife, Dana Jacobson of CBS News.
