Social Justice & Activism Starts in the Home (interview with Dayana De La Torre)
In this episode Amber talks with Dayana De La Torre, a fellow parenting podcaster and content creator, who is currently on her own healing journey about balancing motherhood and career goals, facing and overcoming challenges with therapy, and lastly doing what is necessary to break generational curses and pave a better path forward for our little ones.
Dayana is a first time mom, fellow podcaster, content creator, activist and educator. She is a first generation Latina who is passionate about making an impact by changing the narrative not only for her son, but for the youth in central Los Angeles. Prior to becoming a mother, she was a community organizer who worked with high school students to challenge the systems & policies that have created a school to prison pipeline. A few years later Dayana took to the classroom to become an educator as a means to continue the work she began as a community organizer. As of now she has made the difficult decision to leave teaching, but is now redirecting that energy into spending more time at home with her son Ali as she continues to grow her audience for her podcast with her husband Paul, and her following on social media. Her podcast - Parenting Plus - started out as a fun way for her and her husband to reconnect during the postpartum period. However it has quickly grown into a both honest and vulnerable, yet fun and lighthearted show that discusses the realities of postpartum while sharing intriguing perspectives on some of the most popular & trending TV shows today.Listen to Parenting Plus Podcast & Follow Them On Socials Here:https://linktr.ee/parentingpluspodcast
DISCLAIMER: This episode is produced and edited by the host Amber Ivana.
