Erik Bean, Ed.D., is the author of Bias Is All Around You: A Handbook for Inspecting Social Media & News Stories, a 2022 Nautilus Book Award and Readers’ Favorite, silver medallion recipient. He also earned The Henry Ford Innovation Nation 2022 First Place Top Teacher award for his information bias studies tied to the book. He is a full-time high school English teacher at St. Catherine of Siena Academy in Wixom and holds a master’s in journalism from Michigan State University and a doctorate in education from University of Phoenix where he also serves as research chair in the Center for Leadership Studies. Dr. Bean has 25 years of experience teaching English composition, film studies, humanities, cyber communications, critical thinking, journalism, and technical writing, including roles at Wayne County Community College and as associate professor at American Public University, both online and onsite.
