The Murder of Brittanee Drexel (Dateline's "The Last Walk)
It was a mystery that took 12 years to solve.
In April 2009, 17-year-old Brittanee Drexel headed to Myrtle Beach with a group of older friends for spring break. The trip wasn't going well--she wasn't getting along with the people she was traveling with, so she spent much of the first day texting her boyfriend back home. But when the text messages suddenly stopped, the boyfriend panicked. You see, nobody knew Brittanee had made this trip--her parents had forbidden it. And now she was missing, having left very few clues as to what happened to her. It would take over a decade to find out.
