#246 From Loss to Light: A Journey of Healing and Grace with Amber Saint

We had the pleasure of meeting our next guest, Amber, at the Lincoln Library in downtown Springfield, Illinois. The library, located near the state capital, offers a beautiful and open space, and we found ourselves settling into a nice room for our conversation.Amber's warm and engaging personality was immediately apparent, and it came as no surprise to learn that she hails from Joliet, Illinois. Growing up, she had a close-knit family, including her mom, grandparents, and various relatives who formed a supportive village. Amber fondly recalls her grandmother playing a significant role in their lives and being the one in control.Having deep Christian roots on both sides of her family, Amber experienced a foundational childhood immersed in faith. However, as she grew older, she chose to explore a different church and became actively involved in the AME (African Methodist Episcopal) church. Her faith became an integral part of her identity and grounding.Amber faced a significant loss when her first husband passed away in 2019. Although their marriage had been marked by turmoil and her first husband's poor behavior, she discovered a different perspective as she heard stories from people who knew him. They shared glimpses of a different side, highlighting the good in him. This newfound understanding provided Amber with fresh insights and shifted her perspective on their past.Despite the challenges she has faced, Amber finds herself in a great place in life. She possesses a positive outlook and embraces a hopeful and optimistic mindset. Her interaction with The Jar was a true reflection of her inner light, and she engaged with openness and authenticity.
