Leslie Van Houten was 19 at the time of the crime that she committed under the coercive control of arguably the most infamous cult leader of all time, Charles Manson. She has spent 54 years in prison for stabbing a dead or dying woman. We are not negating the brutality of the crimes committed by the Manson Family, and do not wish to diminish the atrocities that were inflicted on the victims.<br /><br />One important fact that is often misreported is that Leslie was not present at the infamous Tate murders on Cielo Drive.
