We saw Representative Chris Stewart step down after 6 months into his term, citing the health of his wife. A few years ago, Jason Chaffetz stepped down mid-term. Both of them went on to high paying jobs in the private sector. Whenever an elected official steps down midterm, should they be required to pay for the consequences?
