Dr. Manisha Kaka, PhD. SGPGI a certified nutritionist and a certified diabetes educator from Department of Endocrinology, SGPGI, Lucknow shares her experience and valuable insights since she started her career almost 20 years back. She talks about the transitional change that she has observed, earlier nutritionists were thought to be a person only to help in weight management however now, people have insights about how nutrition plays a vital role in healthy living. Talking about working with type 1 diabetes, she says it is the only medical condition which can be managed by oneself. A healthy diet, understanding of what to eat and how much to eat, being physically active and timely insulin administration is the key to diabetes management.
