Internationally-renowned artist Amalia Pica was recently commissioned by UNC and the Ackland Art Museum to do a large-scale piece at the Craige Parking Deck, called “Drawn to Explain.” With the installation officially complete, Pica speaks with 97.9 The Hill’s Brighton McConnell about the process, her inspiration, and what makes it different from her other work.
