PSALMS SERIES: WEEK 06 - PSALM 121 - ONWARD AND UPWARD
Have you ever seen the verse from Jeremiah 29:11: <br/><br/>“For I know the plans that I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you; plans to give you a hope and a future.”? <br/><br/>You can’t miss it, since we put it on posters and coffee mugs and t-shirts! It’s one of the Christian’s favorite Bible verses because it just makes us feel so good about what’s happening in our lives.<br/><br/>It’s funny how we often grab hold of verses that SOUND great in one way - but we don’t really see the CONTEXT of the verse. I have heard this verse quoted about how God wants His people to live wonderfully prosperous lives, devoid of tough times. And I think, “Do you not KNOW the situation that led Jeremiah to write these words?”<br/><br/>As we begin this morning, let’s look at the context of Jeremiah 29:11.
