Season 4 Episode 7: Black Family Lies- Creating the book

This is an archived episode of "Surviving the Lion's Den" and with the holidays just around the corner I thought this would be a perfect episode. As an adult survivor of childhood abuse, I was silenced for years. My only outlet was writing and even then, most of my writing was destroyed by my family members. They didn't want me writing down or discussing anything that happened to me at the hands of my family. It took years of counseling and rehab programs to get me to open up about my abuse. <br/><br/>Once I started talking about my abuse the more it seemed to help people. So, I started writing things down per one of my programs. The more I did the better I felt.
