The chaotic vote for Atlanta’s public safety center
After more than 14 hours of public comment almost entirely against the project, Atlanta City Council passes funding for the proposed Atlanta public safety training center. In this episode of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution’s Politically Georgia podcast, AJC political insiders Greg Bluestein and Patricia Murphy, along with City Hall reporter Riley Bunch, talk about the hundreds of public comments from opponents, the 11-4 vote to fund the project, and what’s next for the safety training center. Plus, how will this vote follow officials in the future, particularly Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens when he runs for another term. Plus, our insiders look ahead to this weekend’s Georgia GOP convention. Hear how the gloves came off with Governor Brian Kemp and former President Donald Trump governor’s jab and how it may be a preview of what’s to come. Have a question for Greg and Patricia?
