Tom Barvick - How do you get one step closer to your goal? (Part 2)
Thank you Tom Barvick @tombarvick for sitting back with me to chirp about all things touring, sharing a ton of laughs, tequila, and performing two of your songs! Order one of his vinyl's now at https://tombarvick.bandcamp.com/album/picturesque

Tom and I sit back to chirp about:His future in the music industryI quiz him on his knowledge of his on Instagram page Tom performs his song wildflowersWe theorize about what his music video for Picturesque is aboutHow his family has supported him through his musical journey We get in a hilarious argument about how to pronounce the word tour Our thoughts on where we are both at with religionHow Tom was one of the few people who STARTED a relationship during COVID.
In Part 2 Tom and I continue to sit back and chirp about:I tell Tom how he disappointed me. Tom reflects that another benefit of the extra time he had during COVID allowed him to write his first record, Picturesque (Available to listen everywhere!). We laughed over the time I “Pandemic Shamed” a potential love interest. Tom chirps about his experience meeting, and sharing the stage with, some of his heroes. Tom drops some wisdom to anyone that’s thinking about a career in music but getting distracted by doing what’s safe instead of pursuing their dream. Tom talks about being so nervous that he’s puked before some of his own shows while answering my question about how he’s so comfortable and confident in his own skin at such a young age of 23. Tom challenges me on if I would or wouldn’t take a virtual interview with one of my vision board guests. I invite you to partner with the pod on the 1,000-star initiative. We cover the genesis of how Tom and I met. Tom performs one more song on his journey to performing in front of thousands of people.
Some of my favorite quotes from the show:

Part 1:

32:26 Tom: (This one’s good for a laugh) “I'm glad that I'm not bad. That's what I strive for. That's what I look myself in the mirror. I'm like, don't be bad today. Don't be bad. Don't be terrible.”

1:01:55 – Tom performs his original song, Wildflowers.

Part 2:

22:09 “You get into music because you love it. Yeah. And I love it. And that's why I won't do anything else. So to that kid, do it. If you love it and if you love something else, do that to”

29:21 “Everything leads to the next thing, right? So if, if one opportunity isn't paid, if one opportunity isn't, or is paid, but isn't as much as you could get making elsewhere, that doesn't really matter. You know? Because especially if you're a kid in high school thinking about it, I'm only 23, I don't need a house right now. I don't need whatever right now. Right. I'm building my career. Everything now is for the future. Pretty much. Don't turn down an opportunity. Yeah. Like everything builds to the next, even literally everything is linear”.

Thank you, Thank You, THANK YOU for tuning into this week's sit back of DSNSB. I hope you shared at least 10 laughs with Tom and me. I believe that this episode will change lives. There are young boys and girls on our planet that need to hear Tom’s message and songs and know that they too can chase their dreams, turn those dreams into goals, and turn those goals into reality.

But that will only happen if you help us reach them, so stop what you're doing now and go leave us a five-star review on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and subscSupport the showhttps://www.youtube.com/@David....sSaturdayNightSitBac
