Episode 85: Practical Advice on Creating a 5 Generation Legacy Family Part 1
In this episode Nathan Merrill and Jeff Krommendyk interview Monroe "Roey" Diefendorf, who is a member of a 5 generational family legacy business. Roey discusses many of the challenges which multi-generational families (or those desiring to transmit family business and wealth among multiple generations) face. He talks about the challenges his family had to overcome to make it to 5 generations, and observations he made of the counsel that affluent families are receiving which is not necessarily in harmony with their concerns and goals, specifically "how to prepare the family for the money". From this he pioneered a "3D" portfolio management approach to advising clients, as well as being instrumental in developing the "Fam Tec" foundation for More Than Money 360, which is his admitted final career but utmost passion. Part 1 of a 2 part series with Roey.
